10 Then Abimelech asked Abraham, “What were you afraid of that you acted this way?”
11 Abraham answered, “I said to myself, ‘Certainly there will be no fear of God[a] in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’ 12 Besides, she is really my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.
